Abigale Le Miller bio

Abigale Lee Mills (born September 21, 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer and reality TV host. She is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, which was featured on the reality series Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller confessed in June of 2016 to fraudulent bankruptcy in the felony category. Miller was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison and released on the 27th of March in 2018. In April of 2018 she was diagnosed with lymphoma, which is a kind of cancer that makes it difficult to walk. In order to move about she uses wheelchair. Miller grew up in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her teacher was her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was 14 years old when she was asked to choreograph and coaching duties on one of her mother's competitive dance teams. Miller eventually took over the studio in 1995 and changed the name to it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was also a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 because Miller's reality TV show Dance Moms was a "complete mistaken portrayal of the teachers we have and their students" and was damaging to the profession.
