Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub - American actor, comedian and activist Her parents were Jewish parents from the Soviet Union and started her career as child actress after she moved to the United States. Her appearances as Lily Adams in AT&T TV commercials between 2013 and 2016 - and from 2020 on - earned her acclaim. In addition to her commercial appearances, she was also a regular on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction show Other Space (2015). Also, she was an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub was also part of the cast as Squirrelgirl for Marvel Rising in 2018 following her casting in the pilot TV series called New Warriors. Vayntrub was born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and is Jewish. At the age of 2, she immigrated with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She was able to settle in West Hollywood. Due to her family's financial difficulties the actress began appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials as a five-year-old. Vayntrub briefly attended Beverly Hills High School, but dropped out following her sophomore year. She she was able to get an GED and went on to earn an Associate of Arts in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. With the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied improv comedy.
